While this is a spoiler thread, this is one bit from filming that I think might also partly spoil the end of S14, so instead I'll leave it hidden.

Looks like Ruby will be first RTD companion to get more than one series: Miss Tyler would like a word (but if you meant more than one with the same Doctor ) Regards mark687

King's the Prince from the new Little Mermaid, and he's one of the regulars on World on Fire. Certainly some name value there.

It's been speculated Matt's green screen appearance in An Adventure In Space And Time would be replaced with David or Ncuti for the repeat on the 23rd, so it'll be that one would think.

Except that's Bradley, not Hartnell. Ok it's quite possible Ncuti has just got mixed up, but it's also possible something special is coming.

Ncuti will have done his bit against green screen, opposite nobody else. It’d be very easy for him to be told it’s for a William Hartnell drama they’re showing on BBC Four or whatever. If it’s something more special than that, then that’d be terrific, I’m sure.

Unless they’re finally “Trials and Tribble-Lationing” and they’ve colourised the Daleks to sneak Gutwa into it

What sounds natural in quick conversation can come off differently in print, in this case the word "somehow" that Ncuti used doing a lot of the heavy lifting, like "kind of" tends to do when used. Since he'd be an apparition to the character William Hartnell, I don't think Ncuti would need to be mispoken to be correct if he's referring to AAISAT. I'd also be sure he's aware of Who spoilers being an issue..but AASIT is not Who.

Unless they’re finally “Trials and Tribble-Lationing” and they’ve colourised the Daleks to sneak Gutwa into it RTD said he wants all the 60s stories in this colour, cutdown format. He's been at pains to say, as had Mark Ayers, are updating the stories for a modern audience but keeping the stories the same. Not sure adding an element like Ncuti, that would date it all over again in a few years, would be done. Also - can anyone see RTD letting his new Doctor to have his first words or actions in-universe being in an edited old story?

Meanwhile, Moffat has a new show out - his first sitcom in years, with Karen Gillan.
Of course, this doesn't mean he may not have written an episode, but timeframe-wise, I think it makes it unlikely.

Whether or not RTD would do it, I actually think it would be great fun... it would really put the cat among the pigeons in fandom.
The sixty years covered in one scene... just imagine!
In fact, the more I think about it, the more the mischievous side of me loves it!!!

In fact, the more I think about it, the more the mischievous side of me loves it!!! As much as it would annoy some people in Ian Levine's groups that would go nuts, annoying them would be great fun but way behind what's best for the show. I'd be all for an ep where the current Doc gets to revisit classic stories - especially with some of the wonderful HD work done by the RT. But sometime in the middle of a Doctor's run, or the end. RTD wants to make this the first of a LOT of reverential but accessible to modern audiences. I don't see sticking Ncuti in there does anything but take attention away from the new edit and colourisation and the Hartnell era kinda defeating the purpose. A Tales Of The TARDIS wraparound? Maybe...but even then since he's not had his intro yet, I don't think that's how to do it. Or that RTD would do so. It would be dated again the minute Ncuti leaves again taking away the timeless concept totally. An alternate but accurate way to view the classic era is what the DWM article talked about. For many reasons, I'm sure as can be it's An Adventure In Space And Time. It's been rumoured for weeks that the repeat of An Adventure would have Ncuti, it wouldn't need any canon-work arounds, it would be a wordless scene that could be shot in minutes on any set they've used, it'd be more new surprise content for the 60th itself (it's airing on the 23rd), and most convincingly Mark Gatiss said the greenscreen was done so they could change the Doctor for future airings if wanted. But absolutely - something that was an actual episode akin to Trials And Tribbleations - or in Who terms, Clara being inserted into some classics for Name Of The Doctor, would be terrific fun. Just...at the right time, and not at the expense of better ideas like the new Daleks edit and colourisation for a modern or casual audience.

If it airs on 23rd, why would you put Gatwa in it. He isn't the Doctor yet and casual viewers (if there are any such things) would be confused. If they were holding it back till after the specials, I'd definitely believe it. Also, Gatwa has shot a lot of stuff now. A scene with Hartnell would probably be for use at Christmas or some time next year in S14. I can't see it being connected to the anniversary in any way.
