Was it previously known Ruth Medeley was returning in Series 15?

Life is too short to bother writing the post I wanted to write in reply to an earlier post, so I wrote this one instead.

I’m genuinely both excited AND worried. Excited to see what appears to be a fun romp, worried that “test reactions” will lead RTD2 and the House of Mouse to “bring back the angst” for season 2+.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I devoutly hope it doesn’t: Doctor Who and angst just don’t go together. Loss and suffering I can deal with; the Doctor worrying about his place in the universe bugs the daylights out of me. Watching a centuries/millennia-old individual being concerned with adolescent issues just annoys me. Nine’s PTSD I could deal with and understand; Ten’s emo crush on Rose and his weekly rants at enemies that didn’t deserve that much emotion got old very quickly. I hope that Fifteen keeps his optimism.

Surely the whole point of the rehab was to get rid of the angsty stuff. Does not mean there cant be more, new baggage of course but at least we should be done with "last of my kind, Time War, I've lost so much...".
Theyre nearly done shooting Season 2 anyway so not like much response from audiences for Season 1 will factor in.

This is a bad decision RTD. Yes I dont get this either. You can have them ASAP by watching on upload to the minute. But if you want to watch with the family on broadcast you need to avoid spoilers for nearly 24 hours. So essentially not go online at all, as it's not how proactive you are with spoilers but how proactive everyone online is. And expecting people to not be online at all in 2024 when its a communication hub more than phones are? Not practical.

Spoilers, in case you haven't seen the cover of the new DWM. But if you have, and you have an opinion on it....

Yes, & for some people their job means they have to be online and/or use social media.

The Doctor Who Prom is back; two performances on August Bank Holidays (Proms 47 & 48 respectively). As with all Proms should get a broadcast, whether that be TV or just radio.

Russell on the Timeless Child arc:
“That storyline is a gift handed to me by Chris Chibnall. It's an honour to take it on from him. There's so much story in it! We're dealing with it in what we're shooting now for Season 2.”
