Noticed that watching last night; thought it was brilliantly bonkers. Wouldn’t be surprised if we start to see this happen in other shows throughout the week. The UK promotion has felt quite lacking, especially compared to the US, but I do love the in-character stuff that you’d only ever get on the BBC.

The UK promotion has felt quite lacking, especially compared to the US, but I do love the in-character stuff that you’d only ever get on the BBC. It's the first week, ever, that the UK success has been reduced in importance - which isn't to say unimportant or not still the main market - but certainly lessened. The ratings will be down since a lot will stream at midnight, and those count as Friday views till 1am. No doubt there'll be some metric to give us a grand total but it's clear that they're confident the show will just do well in the UK anyway. And Christmas should be MASSIVE since the two biggest ratings grabbers of the last decade are back for one off specials which will sandwhich Who along with Call The Midwife - Wallace & Gromit and Gavin & Stacey are both back for one off finales. That will be a massive win for the BBC and viewers will have Who on anyway, watching the full night's schedule (even in the background). But yes, wouldn't it be fun to see something like this on The Antiques Road Show (Ncuti bringing antiques direct from the past?), Question Time (the upcoming fascism ep, anyone?), Eastenders....

Disappointing to see such average/lukewarm reviews for the start of this new era - hopefully it turns out to be a case of the critics’ view being different to the audiences’.

Many thanks to the advance reviewers; five minutes in the present spent reading their work written in the past has saved me an awful (and I use the word deliberately) lot of time in the future.

Never heard of them. I only know 2 Australians, Dame Edna Everage & Sir Les Patterson.

A somewhat odd addition to Mel’s role in this new era; a novel written by Bonne Langford set in Mel’s time with Glitz:
