How come you've heard it and I haven't? What a swizz! Thanks for the kind words, though. (While I'd be happy to explain how Simon and I write together, it would be very boring. But no, we don't sit in the same office like Galton and Simpson. )

Of all the releases this month I'm most looking forward to this. Your review just increases that feeling. Which is funny because I have been hugely critical of the 5th Doctor adventures for a few years now. Too much running in place creatively for me.

Wow, this one was fantastic! The sound design was simply GORGEOUS - cinematic, in fact. Ken Bentley may be my new favorite director after this story and Criss-Cross. I'm looking forward to listening to the Seventh Doctor trilogy later this year!
As for the story, imagine all the tension and mystery of The End of the Line, but extended an hour longer and with Peter Davison instead of Colin Baker. That's not to say this is a rehash of The End of the Line - far from it - but the tone of this story really reminded me of that story. Everyone, especially Tegan, was written to perfection.
I can't think of a single complaint about this release!

I agree it's a triumph for Tegan but nearly upstaged by Hargreaves! Nice use of time without getting t complicated or too 'get out of jail free'

Loved the crap out of this one. Great story, great time travel stuff, things for all of the characters to do, AND I didn't want to blow Tegan out the nearest airlock. And bonus points for me, because I love stories set in spooky derelict locales.
This was a big winner of a release, in my books.

A lovely small scale story with loads of character. I love Hargreaves the robot, his Edwardian Manservant personality really making him stand out. He's like a well spoken WALL-E, going around an abandoned environment cleaning up and wishing there were people there while being utterly adorable doing so. A charming one-off companion. The time travel element was complex yet understated, never overwhelming the plot (sometime the time travel shenanigans tend to be the whole plot) while keeping it interesting and a good twist on the Mary Celeste set-up. Essentially the Mary Celeste with time travel and killer plants.

I enjoyed it, but for me, the guest characters just needed and the horror of the situation needed to be fleshed out a little more. It's still a very good release, though.

I am now at the half-way point in this story. Unless it drops the ball in a big way during the second half, it's shaping up to be a real favourite. I love Hargreaves, and I love the fact that everyone is in increasing danger - all the time!
After a long while of being non-plussed by many Main Range releases, it is great to be so enthused about them again. I was thinking this is my favourite story of the year so far, and then I remembered it's only February!

Hey, this one was great! I really wish he could have kept Hargreaves onboard the TARDIS for a few more Nyssa-Tegan stories.

Me too. I loved Hargreaves and his relationship with the Doctor. This really was a great story. That's 9 for 9 since number 201.

Hey, this one was great! I really wish he could have kept Hargreaves onboard the TARDIS for a few more Nyssa-Tegan stories. He could still be in the TARDIS to this day, trying to keep the TARDIS clean, maintaining the cloisters tidying up the wardrobe. Perhaps he's the one restocking the kitchen, considering the Doctor couldn't make a grocery run without encountering evil Broccoli poisoning the population or something like that. We need a line in future stories, where the companion mentions hearing a voice talking about item 5,372,936 on it's To-Do list and the Doctor says, "So that's where Hargreaves got to" and says no more on the topic. Maybe Charley had a cup of tea with Hargreaves, they'd get on well.
