No, it's what us young fans do when we're excited about something. I believe you mean ask for permission to squee. No, many of us do the 'asdfhhjklqoridnfjwneormejekekrnekeoekdnanznxnfuekelfnejekeieirnrormrirmroeqns' too to express intense excitement.

Hi, I've been a long time watcher of this site, but never posted anything! I'm so excited for these, really hoping they'll do more in the future.

Hm, I don't usually care for adaptations or for Doctor Who books, but the writers have me interested...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Something I have really been feeling nostalgic about has been the lack of novelisations of the new series. I totally get that in the age of DVDs they might be considered a bit superfluous but frankly, I am thrilled to bits by this news.

db, that is exactly how I felt (at school a heck of a long time ago now!) when I found a book with the magic words ' Doctor Who and the Sea Devils' on the front cover and realised I could now read about my hero too! Of course, we had no VHS even, so books were the one way of 'recording' the shows to 'see' again, but the best of the novels add value and are well worth reading even now we can see the episodes any time we choose. Great to see an old tradition revived for the new era.

Yeah, the great thing about novelizations is that they can allow writers to expand on in things that either would have been too expensive to be film, they didn't have room to include in the shooting script or were shot but edited out at the last minute. The Day of the Doctor is going to make for the best book for all of these reasons - The Complete History volume that covers it shows how much thought was put into things that didn't make it to screen.

While I think Rose and The Day of the Doctor could be interesting, I doubt I will buy these books, unless that is the digital versions are super cheap. Looking at the price, I wouldn't pay that much for a novelaization of stuff I already have on DVD.
I find it interesting the they are doing another novelization of the City of Death. The one by James Goss from a few years back was fantastic, not sure there is a need for a shorter one.

I'm hoping they'll do Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways in the future, and I'd quite like Lie of the Land as I feel there could have been more done with the episode.

On further inspection the City of Death novelisation here is the same one as a few years ago, but abridged. Novelisations of new series stories does have my interest piqued, lots of potential there,

Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways would be a fun one. I'd like to read more about the Ninth Doctor's time in the Big Brother house. One of the most serious Doctors on a reality TV show!

I dunno. A Target novelization isn't going to feel right if it's not written by Terrance Dicks and titled "Doctor Who and the..." Doctor Who and the Day of Doctor Who

Doctor Who and the Rose Doctor Who and the Christmas Invasion Doctor Who and the Day of the Doctor Doctor Who and the Twice Upon a Time 😂 Doctor Who And The Name Of The Doctor doesn't sound right... Doctor Who and The School Reunion sounds boring Doctor Who and The Turn Left sounds like a children's driving instruction book Doctor Who and The Dark Water sounds like he's broken the plumbing...

Fingers crossed for a 200 page novelization of The Night Of The Doctor, 193 pages could just be the 8th Doctor listing all his companions...

Doctor Who And World War Three sounds like an in-depth study of the omnishambles present in a world where Theresa May, Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are in positions of power. Doctor Who And The Idiot's Lantern sounds like Katie Hopkins going on a camping trip, a lantern being used for light. Doctor Who And Blink sounds like a new version of SPLINK. Doctor Who And Silence In The Library sounds like a book on library etiquette. Doctor Who And The Big Bang sounds like An Idiot's Guide To Reproduction. Doctor Who And The Wedding of River Song sounds like a soap crossing over with Doctor Who - like, say, EastEnders. What do you mean that happened? *Sees Dimensions In Time* Oh God... Doctor Who And Nightmare In Silver sounds like a street fight with kitchen utensils between Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver. Doctor Who And Listen sounds like somebody mistook the book for a Big Finish audio CD. Doctor Who And The Magician's Apprentice sounds like a novelization of Penn and Teller Fool Us. Doctor Who And The Pilot sounds like a novelization of An Unearthly Child.
