That was pretty good. The Eternals devoid of feeling are quite a good concept, the race depicted well and the Guardians' involvement done well.

Warriors of the Deep
Making an interesting premise into a story as dull as this is actually something of an achievement. The Silurians don't really do anything till midway through Episode 2, though for some reason rather than build up to a reveal there that the story instead chooses to show them all right from the first episode.
The Doctor also has weirdly specific knowledge again. How does he recognise a Silurian battlecruiser? When was this second occasion before now he tried to negotiate peace? Presumably he also became well acquainted with the weakness of Mykras at the same time.

Castrovalva Everyone seems to know about regeneration as they just want to get the Doctor back to the Tardis. Tegan stealing the ambulance made me smile. Though only Nyssa seems to be paying attention and Adric gets left behind. Makes no sense for the Master to zap the guards and then run off. Am not really sure why the Doctor is having such a bad regeneration. How dare this new Doctor unravel the 4th Doctor's scarf. Oh wait it's just the new one that's not so bad. Peter Davison does a good job as the other Doctors. Lipstick on the Tardis walls looks a bit like blood which I like. I though Castrovalva was the planet but it seems to be this city. Am enjoying the music. Is the best Master story for a while and even Adric isn't his usual annoying self. Only downside is there's no mention of Master stealing Nyssa's father's body or killing Tegan's aunt. Four To Doomsday Story feels flat and there's never any real threat. Kept expecting the floating camera to do something like zap them unconscious. When it's revealed that someone is watching them it should feel creepy but it doesn't. Adric is suddenly sexist and for some reason Tegan is bothered about losing her job. The dancing and fighting scenes just feel like padding. Adric is back to his turncoat ways only this time he actually thinks Monarch's plan is great. Am glad the Doctor told him off for that. Tegan running back to the Tardis and randomly pressing buttons is just stupid. If they wanted Tardis outside should have just had Monarchs attempts to open it trigger some defensive system. Doctor throwing cricket ball to get momentum to reach Tardis was just silly. As is the way Monarch is dealt with at the end. Most exciting bit of the story is when Nyssa faints at the end.
Kinda Am excited to find out what's up with Nyssa. So am disappointed to find out she's fine and just needs some rest. Tegans dream sequences look great, reminds me of Alice in wonderland. Hindle's breakdown is well done. Mara mark looks good. After Mara goes to Aris Tegan doesn't really do anything. Adric just seems to be there to cause trouble. Really like Todd and she's basically the Doctor's companion in this. Pann is also great especially when she calls the doctor an idiot. Would have liked to have found out what happened to the missing crew. But this is still an amazing story.

I think those two figures in the void playing chess (or its closest equivalent) in "Part One" are likely the missing crewmen. The ones that insist Tegan doesn't exist as anything other than a delusion to throw off the other's game. They certainly possess the hauteur of those on the colony ship, even as wraiths. Interestingly, Nyssa's brief spell as hors de combat does eventually come to fruition in Primeval. Something was trying to make contact with her.

The Visitation The start is quite interesting with the family in the manor house under attack. I like that Tegan is still getting over her experience with the Mara. Not sure if three companions is too many to write for or writer just didn't like them. As once again they are sidelined. Nyssa does something in the Tardis, Adric runs around in the forest and can't remember what Tegan does. Leaving highwayman Richard Mace as the Doctor companion. Which isn't a bad thing as I find him quite likeable. Android dressed as death looks good but otherwise just looks odd. The sonic been destroyed is probably the biggest thing to happen. Can't believe the Doctor ran off leaving Adric and Tegan. For some reason the great fire of London is tacked on the end.
Black Orchid Not sure why Doctor Who is doing a two parter. This is a strange one. I guess it's meant to be a murder mystery. As it starts with a murder. But it might just as well be the Tardis crew taking a day off. As the Doctor plays cricket, they go to a fancy dress ball and Tegan dances.
Earthshock Scanner is great and really helps build the tension. Like the fight between Adric and the Doctor about him wanting to go home. The androids look good and the Cybermen reveal is nicely done. The footage of old Doctor's is a nice touch. Cybermen taking over the ship is great. The Doctor trapping one in a door looks really good. Would have liked Nyssa to do more. As while Tegan gets to go off shooting Cybermen she's left in the Tardis. Temporal grace doesn't seem to be working. Not sure what to make of Adric's death. At this point he's the companion I'm least bothered about. Is strange to see the Doctor fail.
Time-Flight Tegan and Nyssa want doctor to go back and save Adric. When he explains he can't he tries to bride them with a trip to the great exhibition. When the Dcotor drops unit's name for a brief moment I though it might turn into a unit story. Am not sure why the Master fakes death before revealing himself. The Doctor refuses to give Tardis key to Kalid. But as soon as it's revealed to be the Master he just hands the key over no problem. I don't understand why the master didn't just take the Doctor's Tardis and leave. As isn't the whole plot him needing a new power source for his Tardis. The Concorde crew just decide to start sabotaging the Tardis. Somehow it actually proves effective. Seems anybody can now enter the Tardis and pilot it. As professor just appears and does that. The Doctor goes on about how he tricked the Master. Though never considers that the Master could have given him a component that had been tampered with. Tegan goes for a walk and the Doctor and Nyssa leave without her.

Well. "The Twin Dilemma" wasn't anywhere as near as bad as its reputation suggests. Yes, it's pretty poor, but it's note xactly "Timelash", now is it? The Guyfawkeschickenmen have a good look. Colin Baker manages to be the last person in the twentieth century to wear spats and carry it off.
(But I'm a bit worried about the scene where the Doctor attacks Peri. Just what is he about to do to her before she waves that mirror at him?)

(*cough* My fanedit of it as a lovely 25-min two-parter here for anyone wishing to skip the padding and enjoy what's actually a pretty fun story. *uncough*) The Twin Dilemma's just slow for those first couple of episodes. It picks up pace once it reaches Jaconda (the moment it clicked for me was their arriving in the wasteland) and Maurice Denham's Azmael is really quite endearing. With Colin Baker, it feels like we've known this friendship for decades. It's also delightfully quotable:

The Twin Dilemma
Well that was terrible. The Doctor goes MIA, instead Colin Baker does his utmost to deliver the raving lunatic the script calls on him to be, the plot was dull as soot, the sets look dirt cheap and all the supporting characters are either dull (The twins) or make no sense (why does Hugo decide to change his outfit?). The Doctor kind of rematerialises in Part 4 but it's too little, too late. The story ends setting up a dynamic of the Doctor and Peri bickering...oh great, that won't get old quick.
Absolutely deserving of its reputation.

Arc Of Infinity Why is so much time devoted to these backpackers. Finally something interesting as one of them has been super exterminated. At least that's what the effect reminds me of. Now he's a zombie and it turns out he's related to Tegan. Omega's background isn't really explained and have no idea how he got his hands on a Tardis. The matrix scenes are dull. Not sure why Doctor suddenly believes is the real Tegan.
Snakedance Kinda was amazing but this sequel just doesn't grab me in the same way. Providing more background on the Mara makes it less scary. Nyssa's new outfit is bad. Janet Fielding does a good job alternating between Tegan and the Mara. For some reason the snake mark doesn't look as good. Having Nyssa scream is out of character and odd. The Punch and Judy show feels random and not sure why it's included. Kept showing old man so expected him to have some big role and he just didn't. The resolution was poor.
Mawdryn Undead Instantly like Turlough as he's stealing a car. Then he makes a deal with the devil in this case the black guardian and find out he's an alien. Nice as it is to see the Brigadier again I just can't believe he became a teacher. The scene where he remembers everything is really well done. The two timelines is an interesting idea. Don't get why nobody questioned Mawdryan as they would easily have discover he wasn't the Doctor. Turlough displays knowledge no one on Earth would have and Doctor doesn't bother to question him about it.

Time and the Rani Pantomime. It's just all over the place, and quite frankly can someone please put Mel out of her misery. The screaming never ends.
Paradise Towers An alright concept, with some decent stuff for the Doctor. McCoy seems to have a much firmer grasp on the role. Mel continues to irritate, why exactly does she decide swimming is a priority when there's clearly bigger problems at hand?
Delta and the Bannermen That was decent. Music was weird, and tonally it's a bit off (most of the supporting characters die in second part, but the story maintains it's breezy tone). McCoy is growing into the role well, with a nice fill-in companion in Ray (I am surprised Big Finish haven't brought her back). Mel's not too aggravating either.
Dragonfire Ace shows up and instantly surpasses Mel (who knocks herself out at one point!). The story's not too bad, again a massive casualty rate (is this why the Doctor starts getting more proactive in Season 25, as a result of the massacres he's witnessed in last two stories). Mel's departure isn't the best, but not the worst in the classic series (that dubious honour goes to Dodo). The literal cliffhanger is baffling.
Season 24 wasn't that bad all in all. Sure none of them are classics, and I won't be rushing to get them on DVD, but they're not all car crashes either.

As you say, the majority of the supporting characters are unceremoniously killed off... and it's basically ignored after that. Also, the second "cliffhanger" and "resolution" are arguably as bad as the literal cliffhanger in Dragonfire, in my opinion. I could go on, but I feel I've probably been harsh enough to the story around the forum... (maybe I should cut it some slack?)

(although if you've seen the Outtakes you'll never watch "the Singing Time" scene the same way again LOL!)

Terminus Nice creepy start with the plague ship. Tegan and Turlough are sidelined for most of the story as they crawl around ship. As Turlough and the Doctor are separated for most of the story the Black Guardian stuff just feels tacked on. Like when Turlough asks Tegan have you ever murdered somebody. The whole big bang thing seems an unnecessary addition to the plot. Not sure why they try and cure the healthiest people first. Or what happened to all the cured people. Also why does Nyssa spend most of the story in her underwear. Am sad to see her go and the goodbye scene is well done.
Enlightenment The reveal that their actually on a spaceship is really well done. Find the Eternals really interesting and creepy. I like the relationship between Marriner and Tegan. Turlough's suicide attempt was unexpected. The guest cast is good. This could have just been an average story about a race in space. Instead it's amazing.
The King's Demons Another two parter. Costumes look great. Story seems like it would be a better fit for the Meddling Monk. Not actual sure what the Master's plan is. Sword fight was ok. Now the doctor has a shape shifting companion.
Warriors Of The Deep Base under siege and enemy agents this should be good. But somehow it manages to be terrible. Silurians now have blinking lights when they talk and Sea Devils costumes look really bad. Myrka was said so convincingly that though must have seen it before. It looks terrible. No idea why commander is trying to drive guy mad so they can reprogram him. For some reason the Doctor thinks it's a good idea to set the reactor to explode so they can escape in the confusion.

The Awakening This reminds me of The Daemons. Think it really should have been a four parter. Would have loved to see the Doctor go back to the 17th century. There's another of Tegans relatives.
Frontios Not sure why the Doctor is suddenly worried about Timelords finding out that he's interfering. The Tardis been destroyed makes no sense. It only seems to happen to provide an easy resolution to the story. Found the part 3 cliffhanger unsettling. Mark Strickson is brilliant, the look on Turloughs face should really have been the part 1 cliffhanger. Brazens death seems stupid. Good guest cast and despite it's shortcoming I really enjoyed it.
Planet Of Fire Lots going on at the start leaves me a bit confused. Kamelion finally makes an appearance. Peri gets stuck on a boat. So puts her stuff in a bag then steals what thinks is a valuable artifact. Then finds out can't swim or gets into difficulty I'm not quite sure. Turlough saves Peri though not sure why he takes her inside the Tardis. Also not sure how Turlough knows it's his fathers ship and that the Master is really Kamelion. Am sad to see him go as was an interesting character. Peri is great she stands up to the Master, tries to control Kamelion and even takes shoe off to try and kill Master. Doctor doesn't seem that bother by Kamelions death though is by the Masters.
The Caves Of Androzani When I watched this as a kid I assumed Peri and the Doctor had been traveling together for ages. So was surprised to learn this was only their second story. The wide shot at the start seems strange. Sharaz Jek is a great villain though it might have been better not to show his face. The gunrunners could have been fairly generic. But find them interesting especially Stotz. Morgos is great and like how his secretary betrays him and takes over. Only think I didn't like was the magma beast as it doesn't look great and seems a bit pointless.

The Twin Dilemma The plot isn't that great. Something about the hungry caterpillar, space police and some kidnapped twins. Liked the stuff with the Doctor and Peri in the Tardis. Wasn't really bothered by the Doctor strangling Peri. Though it was interesting that he stopped when saw his face in mirror. Am not sure how much of what the Doctors like is down to regeneration and how much is his new personality. Space cop steals clothes for no reason. Surely they could have written a better way for him to find the power pack. Then he decides to stay on the planet for no real reason. Message to the audience at the end seems misjudged.
Attack Of The Cybermen Maurice Colbourne is great and don't care that suddenly Lytton and the Doctor know loads about each other. Like the stuff in the tunnels at the start. Is nice to see the chameleon circuit working. Cryons don't look that great and is odd that the Cybermen die far too easily. Torture scene made me go wow. How was that allowed. Like the Doctor taking action and his concern for Peri. Isn't the greatest story but enjoyed it.
Vengeance On Varos Guest cast is great particular the governor. Sil is great character. Scene where Peri is almost turned into a bird is really well done. With all the reality tv story still feels relevant today.

The Happiness Patrol That was alright. The Doctor kick starts a revolution in a relatively well constructed dystopia with some nice moments. The Kandyman is a bit of an oddity, he doesn't really serve much of a purpose story-wise, just having two main scenes with the Doctor. Weird how they don't even buildup to a reveal of him, just have him appear in his full copyright-questionable glory straight from the off.
Silver Nemesis The Cybermen are utterly feeble, the gold weakness has really become something of a joke at this point. Lady Peinforte ranges from interesting (hints at knowing the Doctor's secrets) to generic madwoman, and the neo-Nazis are just a cliche. Basically inferior to Remembrance of the Daleks in every way (and no pointing out the resolution is similar at the end does not make having the same plot a story apart better). Mediocre 25th birthday.
The Greatest Show in the Galaxy That was good. The circus setting is creative, the characters all decently depicted. Not too shabby.
Battlefield Not amazing, but not awful either. Sci-if Knights is original, the Doctor as Merlin a nice take on the Doctor's future and Morgaine a surprisingly layered villain. Production quality seemed to have got better too, with the exception of the ship defences. Shame the Destroyer doesn't actually do anything. Decent final outing for the Brig too.
