I prefer the Marvel US comic cover... #1 started their reprints of Marvel UK Doctor Who strips with The Star Beast.

Yep that is cool. I can see what the idea is for the BF cover but it seems a bit juvenile to say, it's a comic book adaptation so let's put speech bubbles on the cover. It would have probably not been financially viable to get Dave Gibbons to do a new cover but something along the lines of a graphic novel cover would have been cool.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed both of these stories even for as much falls on the lighter side. I think they struck a remarkably good balance between serious and silly (reminded me somewhat of The Well-Mannered War, and my fondness for it) and the performances were fantastic starting with Tom.
Wondering how I'm going to make it to the next Fourth Doctor season now not having saved any from this or the set with Ann Kelso, but they'd both be things I'd be particularly eager to listen to again in the meantime, which is another point for both.

The Iron Legion is brilliant! Tom is on blistering form, alongside a great guest cast. I was a little apprehensive about the story being adapted into four parts, rather than a set of 4x60 minute adaptations, but given the story is rather the epic, it really works. I especially love the expansion of the Doctor and Morris’ relationship. It’s perhaps a touch too long, but that’s only due to each part being longer than the standard 25 minutes; I wouldn’t remove a whole part or anything like that.
I’m looking forward to The Star Beast; I don’t know much about that one at all!

Just finished listening to The Iron Legion, really enjoyed it too! I'm not a fan of the Fourth Doctor but I tend to like his box sets more than his usual range, especially the first Philip Hinchcliffe Presents. It certainly was as weird and fun as I expected it to be, even though I've not read the two stories adapted here. No regrets for purchasing this, I will probably listen to The Star Beast tomorrow!

The Star Beast is another great story. Tom’s again on blistering form, alongside a lovely guest cast. Rhianne Starbuck puts in a wonderful performance as Sharon; I hope we get further adaptations (or original adventures!) with her. I loved the barmy Yorkshire accents and setting, with the contrast of the Wrarth and Beep the Meep. I do think this is one that could’ve easily been an hour and allowed us to get another Sharon adaptation in the set. It doesn’t feel like it drags, though, so it’s not a criticism.
I don’t always listen to the behind the scenes, but as I was driving whilst listening to the latter half of The Star Beast, I let them carry on playing. The affection everyone has for Tom Baker is wonderful; what a legend. It’s worth listening to them until the very end!
A brilliant set. All I can say is “more please”!

Cds came in the post today. It bucks the trend of moving to smaller packaging. 5 single cds each in their own case in a box set, I wonder why they decided to do this?

Presumably it’s because it’s Tom and because he sells really well. It’s not without precedent; the Hinchcliffe box was the same. And the Fourth Doctor Lost Stories too, I think? I haven’t received my physical set yet, but it does seem unnecessary. Three cases like the First Doctor Adventures would suffice. I do love the cover for the behind the scenes disc.

The other Tom ones you mention were 6 cds in 5 cases, i think this is the first time we have had 5 cds in 5 individual cases. Usually 5cds come in 4 cases, e.g. dark eyes, ravenous, jago & litefoot, river song, etc.

To be fair, those stories were also recorded and released before they started cutting back on CD costs. Considering how drastic it's been, 5 individual CD's seems a lot. I was expecting something similar to the 1DA's.

I was expecting something similar to the 1DA's. Sure, but nothing has changed for Tom when it comes to packaging; he still gets the “premium” four cases in a slipcase. For the Comic Strip Adaptations, he’s got the 1DA standard of a separate case for the bonus disc, with an added Tom “premium” of splitting his stories across two cases! I think, War Master aside, Big Finish have been quite consistent with their packaging for Doctor Who ranges. If Tom sells well enough, which he clearly does, then I understand keeping up that consistency with a case per two parts / five cases a special set. It is terribly wasteful and I too expected something like the 1DA’s. In fact, I would’ve preferred it.

My CD set has just arrived and I must say it is a thing of beauty. I love the design of the covers and the booklets...having separate CD cases mean we get additional pages of content.
(Do staples really cost more than plastic cases?)
I too was expecting something more streamlined, but I am very, very pleased with the overall package.
Big Finish really should put a picture of this pack and it’s contents on their website.

I agree with everyone. It's fun and brilliant and Tom sounds like he's having a great time, But I have to draw attention to one thing....
