I could've sworn we had a Mandalorian thread already but it seems not, so here we go.
Recently they announced Season 2 will premiere on October 30.
And just now they've released a Season 2 trailer:

Looks great, my only concern is if they start including more elements from various other Star Wars media, it could feel a bit too much like fanservice.

Season 1 did have a fair amount of fan service & reference to a lot of SW stuff that came before. It just handled it smartly so you don't need to have seen past material to understand; it's just nice references for people who know.

I loved the first season of The Mandalorian. Knowing a second season is coming may be enough to convince me to renew my DisneyPlus subscription when my first year's worth of free DisneyPlus runs out. (I got a year free as a promotion from my internet provider.)

Seen the trailer. Greatly looking forward to 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 after enjoying Season 1. I'm planning to re-watch the 'Star Wars' movies alongside watching episodes of 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 on Disney+ as well as read a trilogy of 'Star Wars' books. It's going to be a 'Star Wars' October-November-December for me. Tim.

Yeah, really strong opener. Looking forward to the next episode and how the season pans out.
I thought Tatooine was much better served here than in the last season; the references were much less “oh here we are, another nod!”. I’d like the show to move on from that in general, but it’s a minor issue on the whole and it’s usually well done.

For anyone who isn't aware {Mild spoiler for episode 201} Timothy Olyphant's character, Cobb Vanth, originates in the Aftermath trilogy of novels, which are set in the 12 months between the Battle of Endor and the Battle of Jakku. There, too, he acquires Boba Fett's armour and begins acting as a sheriff on Tatooine (though the story varies slightly...or perhaps he just remembers it in a different way?). So it was pretty cool to see him show up in live-action!

Excellent Still full of lots of fan service like filling in Star Wars footnotes Like the Krayt dragon and other fun stuff
Liked the extended run time, hope that carry’s on for the rest of the season

Liked the extended run time, hope that carry’s on for the rest of the season Me too, although I think Chapter 2: The Child is the best representation of the show in a nutshell, yet it’s by far the shortest episode! I think Jon Favreau mentioned that the running time for the season would be longer than the first. I suspect that’s overall, but it should mean most, if not all, episodes hit the 40+ minute mark. I really liked the change in aspect ratio towards the end too. I’m hoping we get another season of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian that’ll touch upon that. I suspect it was done with IMAX cameras (a la Christopher Nolan) and they intended to have cinema screenings pre-COVID.

I hope it continues in the episodic format rather than become story arc heavy. I like the more old fashioned adventure of the week format.

Episode 10...Very good and made my skin crawl. That story went fast. It was over and all I could think was that's it? It felt like it was no more than 20 minutes. What will that kid NOT eat?
