I want access to the classic series here in the UK, sure I can purchase them from the BBC Shop... but I'd rather just stream them from Amazon or Netflix. Classic stories aren't going to be available to stream any time soon. The BBC preferred model will be for you to buy to view via BBC store. I'm not even sure they have streaming rights to those stories as the concept didn't exist when the programmes were made. how would artist fees be calculated? it would be a potential nightmare for them. Streaming rights don't seem to be a problem, I have watched some classic era on streaming services.

I'm only aware of a couple of limited examples, more an experiment with the format than anything.

Hopefully it will come back somewhere soon.

I'm going to set a weekend aside for backing up all my DVDs as files so I can "stream" them myself from a hard drive onto the TV, I think. Will be a pain, but worth it long term. I suffer from terminal laziness for getting up and changing discs Trust me, it's worth doing. Just remember to rip them at the highest quality you can - having to redo them because you "skimped" on the quality is rather annoying . Cheers Tony

Well, the New Series seems to be up on Prime now. I still miss the Classic Series, but this is better than nothing.
