I keep singing the title of this thread to the tune of 'If I was the king of the forest' from The Wizard of Oz.

Range choice and management is odd
DS is obviously popular(ish) but trans-Atlantic recording with an older cast is obviously difficult Bloodlines looks increasingly unlikely for this year,
Galifrey gone off in 3 different directions not all the fans like them but they all want more.
And that's before the 3 year wait for a second Charley and fourth graceless boxset
No Prisoner
I've never liked these ranges myself and would drop in favour of all Doctor led stories, J&L 4 Boxsets a year, Survivors 3 Boxsets a year. B7 6-8 releases a year.
Also historically us long term subscribers have paid more then the newer customer,(yes I know that means we've got the full CD MR back catalogue) but maybe we could've got a free 12 month Sub so that way reflects the total we've spent overall rather then the Super Sub which saves 6 months after 2 years, but it didn't really because of the releases BF choose to start it from meant most of us took out a 6 month Sub to cover the gaps they had leading up to it.

Big Finish would be in ruins because I don't have half the talent in my finger as the team over there has!

Hmmmm... this is a tough one as I don't have much creative talent, and Big Finish do seem to be doing reasonably well after 18 years as it is. Off the top of my head...
1) I'd make the main range the main range again for a start, maybe including a random Doctor (4th/8th/10th) in a special one-off story as the extra release at the end of the year, just to break up the 5,6,7 routine. (I might even make that release Christmas/Holiday themed as the extra release is now in December.)
2) Better choices of subscription and bundle models for the main range; i.e. you could suubscribe to a whole year of releases at a time (13), or pick any 6/12 stories from a retrospective sub/bundle, so you can skip Doctors or just fill in gaps.
3) Lossless download formats, FLAC/ALAC etc., so with a download you get exactly the quality of the CD. Plus digital booklets.
[Semi serious; but if you don't ask you don't get!]
4) Yeah, pester Christopher Eccleston, and maybe try and lure him in to Big Finish by the back door and cast him in something other than a Doctor Who audio!
5) Licence The Walking Dead audios from Mr Kirkman and cheaply rewrite all the Survivors scripts, swapping the flu virus for Zombies! (Nick Briggs really needs to add zombie voices to his CV after all!)
6) Get Jason Haigh-Ellery to sell his BMW and put the proceeds towards dropping the 'per order' charge for international customers.
I wouldn't do much else, as why have underlings if the boss is the one to come up with every idea!

1. The main range: I'd drop the trilogy format for a year. Have a story with a different doctor each month.
2. The fourth doctor: I'd add Adric and set a series in e space
3. The 8th doctor: I'd drop the box set format and release them singularly and have them 1 a month every month
4. The early adventures/3rd doctor/ companion chronicals: I'd have January a 3rd doctor box set, February/ 1st doctor cc March-June 1st doctor early adventures July 3rd doctor box set August 2nd doctor cc September-December 2nd doctor early adventures
5. The war doctor: more of the same. It's a range I'm pretty happy with
6. 10th doctor: try and get him in at least once a year if available
7. Galifrey: 2 box sets a year. I'd also Sort out the legal issues that prevent series 1-3 downloads
8. J and l. Pretty much more of the same. Don't fix what ain't broke. I'd price 2-10 seasons the same as season 1 as I feel those are very overpriced for older releases
9. Torchwood: carry on with the monthly releases and odd specials add burn Gorman into the mix
10. Survivors: more of the same.
11. Prisoner: 2 a year. Tom baker as number 2.

If I were head, I doubt it's have made it to 20years once once a season, we'd get a box set of something Who, so four box sets a year. Id also be looking to see exactly how flexible a remit we had, what exactly was off the table. The Sarah Jane Chronicles perhaps. Or UNIT Chornicles. Reboot B7, but find roles for the old guard (Darrow as Ensor and therefore Orac for example).

There's not much I think I could say with confidence, but after listening to Circle of Friends, I'm quite certain I would try to get:
-> an 8th Doctor trilogy in the Main Range featuring Fitz and Anji <-
Matt Di Angelo was perfectly cast as Fitz, and should have another go at it.
It would also be great to have the 8th guest again in the MR, to bring fans of MR into the 8th and to bring fans of the 8th into the MR.

I would throw an ungodly amount of money at Sean Connery and get him to do one more James Bond made just for audio. And I would cast Tom Baker as the villain.

Maybe they could bring Di Angelo back for a short trip or two if they have no room in the schedules for a proper story? I like Anji alot but Fitz and the 8th Doctor have a pretty unique relationship (I don't think the 8th Doctor has had any other human male companions?) I haven't read all the EDA's yet but aren't there a couple of gaps in the range where Fitz and the Doctor are travelling alone? A MR trilogy with just the duo would give McGann a very different sort of companion to play around with, Fitz seems to be a very popular companion with those who know the books and those who don't he's brings out a very different side to the 8th Doctor.

Whoever's in charge of Big Finish social media said they'd pass on my suggestion of setting a Davison BF in Adelaide (the state capital of South Australia), maybe even involving the fifth Doctor with the famous cricket ground, the Adelaide Oval.

Produce another 2CD length Strax special teaming up with a new (no hold barred) partner in crime - The War Doctor!

It would have to be a lot of money, for the quite simple reason that (no matter what Nick Briggs keeps saying in the podcast) the rights are very unlikely to be available. Martin Jarvis's company have them all wrapped up for their series on Radio 4. Oh, and if Big Finish were to do more with Fitz (who undeservedly risks becoming something of a footnote in the history of companions), why not just pick up straight after the end of "The Gallifrey Chronicles"?

Even if he was in perfect health, I don't think he'd be interested in returning to the franchise anyway. Now, Bond audios with Dalton returning that would get my vote... If Big Finish ever decide to do LOTR, I think Tom Baker is a shoe in for Tom Bombadil...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Tom would be a perfect Tom Bombadil though . Cheers Tony

Jackson also wanted Daniel Day Lewis as Aragorn, Connery for Gandalf and I think Bruce Willis was rumoured at one point for Boromir...I think he made the right decisions in the end, Day Lewis would have been closer to the Aragorn of the book i.m.o but it's slightly terrifying to think what he'd do to get into character...
