I wish Turlough's other life wasn't a secret from the Doctor. It's really scuppered Big Finish's ability to deal with it. I've always been interested in what Turlough told the Doctor about himself, off-screen - on tv the Doctor, at least at first, is trying to get Turlough to his alleged home planet. And in the books, Turlough's obviously told the Doctor enough to warrant his remarks (in "The Crystal Bucephalus") about the Time Lords interfering in his people's origins. It could be interesting if the TARDIS arrived at wherever it was Turlough falsely claimed to have come from. (On the other hand, then you have "Imperial Moon" in which the mystery of Turlough's background is so mysterious even he's forgotten what it is. Oops.) Incidentally, the blurbs in DWM for "Time in Office" have restored my anticipation for this audio, after the unremarkable trailer came out.

This is the release I'm most looking forward to next month (September 2017). And that's in an incredibly strong field and an excitingly busy month of releases. Including the strange coincidence(?) of the Unbound Third Doctor also finding himself in office against his will in New Benny 4. Other Universe, same month, same problem. Spooky!

For instance, why anyone was sacred of something called a Tractator. They sound like Authoritarian Tractors. Well, the Soviets were infamous for announcing (impossibly optimistic but indisputable) 5-year plans for tractor production. Those were authoritarian tractors for sure! On Topic: even with the Gravis gone and the Tractators back to harmless grubbing insects (if rather large ones), the political situation on Frontios was a mess, with the old order of the colony rule falling, Plantagenet being young and inexperienced and the 'Retrograde Element' unlikely to go back to being ruled by anyone. Turlough was born into the schemings and civil war of the Trion nobility. He was a naturally clever and devious person but by this point he had learned better ways from the Doctor's example. So, I could imagine him using his guile and experience of Trion to help Plantagenet establish the new colony, while trying to avoid the sort of divisions that had driven his family into exile. I really, really want to see this Companion Chronicle now.

Just a thought. Couldn't 6 pop in to see Tulough?

Utterly absurd and very good fun. A great story for Tegan, and the Fifth Doctor and Leela are a lovely pairing. It's not quite The Thick of It minus the language - and I think the first half is much better than the second - but as I said, very good fun!

Tegan's immigration issues had me lol-ing. Leela declaring that she can marry the Doctor was the cherry on the top.
