That's really great, I hope they get the voices spot on 🙂

I never once expected to see the original Tenth Planet style Cybermen return on TV. Poor Nick Briggs.

And will they all have names like Krang or Krog or whatever?

YESSSSSSSSSS. I've been wanting these Cybermen back ever since I first saw a clip of the original Mondasian Cybermen in the Tenth Planet. I'm glad Capaldi got his wish! {Spoiler} I just hope the rumours about them doing a Cybermen origin story aren't true, just because I don't want it to clash with Spare Parts.

With 11 rebooting everything it could clash and STILL be fine.

That's one of the good things about the Big Bang 2.

The design doesn't look too good to be honest...

The design doesn't look too good to be honest... In the promo pic on. Facebook it does look too CG for me.

The design doesn't look too good to be honest... Well, it's not going to if they are true to the original design. I'm at least happy these aren't the absurd immediately-adaptable-to-everything type from Nemisis.

Shouldn't this be in the "Spoilers and series 10" thread

Shouldn't this be in the "Spoilers and series 10" thread Yup. I was a bit grumpy about entering what I thought was going be discussion about Mondas only to get walloped by a big spoiler.

This isn't a spoiler. It's an official teaser by the BBC for the 10th series. If it spoils something for a viewer then that's their problem, but it's no more a spoiler than a trailer is.

At the Deep Breath screening Q&A, Capaldi said he wanted to face the Mondasian Cybes more than anything. Moffat jokingly made fun of him for being too geeky - glad to see Peter getting the wish granted.

Yeah, I'm sure he held the BBC to ransom over it. Had they insisted on new series Cybermen, he'd probably have quit on the spot

This is great news. I can honestly say I'm more excited about this than I probably should be! And yet I remember the originals as ghostly, weird, clanking things - and extremely frightening (which is bizarre, because all they did in their original episode was threaten to interview everyone to death). Terrific news. I'm sure this will be a bitter/sweet story for Peter C.

This is exciting news for us fans but it will be interesting to see if it works for the casual audience. The Tenth Planet Cybermen have such a (intentionally) cheap look to them that casual viewers may not appreciate Cybermen with cloth faces.
It's an intriguing move for the show and hopefully it won't backfire for Steven Moffat.
