Now, I've only seen Pete's World Cybermen and the Mondas cybermen in photographs (unless I've missed something). Couldn't it just be possible that Mondas has entered the orbit of Pete's World? Hence, the slight difference between the 1966 design, and the NuWho design?

However not having Billie Piper, David Tennant and the extended family would put the mockers on that, because they's be involved somehow.

Not having the Brigadier, or SJS could put the mockers on it. Hopefully, the Cybermen killed Tennant, Rose and family.

I could live for another 50 years without ever having Billie Piper reprise her role as Rose, and not feel one ounce of remorse. Just sayin...

If I were the writer, I could easily write a script set on Pete's World, without Rose and family. Just look at the number of episodes set on "our" Earth, that do not have previous companions in them! I could even write a through away line explaining why they are not in the thick of the action. Even Seeds of Doom doesn't have the Brigadier in it, but its explained why! And, finally, its only a guess, sheer speculation, that I've said it could be set on Pete's World. Why would a competent writer have Rose in an episode that could be Capaldi's last episode. It would be a complete distraction!

That's really great, I hope they get the voices spot on 🙂 Well if Nick Briggs is doing the voices we don't have to worry. Yay I am excited these are my favorite Cybermen.

Just playing devils advocate here, what would've the point of setting a story on petes world and not including rose? That's pretty much the main distinction between the two earths. Hell that particular origin for the cybermen hasn't even been relevant since doomsday!

Hell that particular origin for the cybermen hasn't even been relevant since doomsday! Rose wouldn't be important to the story! Its also not the main distinction. The Cybus Cybermen came from Petes World. It's very sad that people just can't get over Rose. If a story was set on a different parallel world, Rose would still be in that world, along with every other past companion. Would there be a demand for Rose to return. Is there a desperation for Martha to return in a present day "our" world Doctor Who story? Every time the Doctor return to present day Earth, do we demand the return of Tegan, or Martha? Technically, Clara could meet the Doctor in every future adventure. As for the Cybermen. Has it been made positively clear that the Cybermen we had in Death In Heaven are Earth(Master creation), Mondas or Cybus? What about the ones in Closing Time? or Nightmare in Silver? There is a huge mess. And, I don't see it being cleared up in their series 10 appearance!

Gaiman claimed that the Nightmare in Silver are the result of a merge between the surviving Cybus and Mondasian Cybermen. Personally I think all of them from The Pandorica Opens onwards are Mondasians who just adopted the Cybus design (Note how they never say 'Delete' after The Next Doctor, which given it was such a prominent part of the Cybus designs suggested these are a different breed). It's been so long since Pete's World was even mentioned that it's probably safe to assume all current Cybermen are from the main universe.

I find the comparison between deleting something on a computer and Cybermen converting their victims to be like them quite a creepy one.
