Looks like a new Shada animation may be happening. Rumours suggest a Charles Norton/Big Finish collaboration with Tom Baker, Lalla Ward and John Leeson reprising their roles.

Hill's confirmed it on Twitter weeksago and seems to think its nfor a November release. Would be similar to Power's schedule last year.
I'm not fussed frankly. The McGann audio, the McGann animation, the Levine animation, the Novelisation, the video with linking narration, the script-book - I'mm Shada-ed out. For a story that never was, I've experienced it more than just about any other real, existing story.

VERY interesting. Do the rumours suggest a full animation or (even better IMO) a completed story part-animated around the existing footage? Or no clues yet?
I like the Eighth Doctor BF audio very much, and the original video release with Tom Baker's linking sections, but a complete official version with the full Tom performance would be well worth having.

I'm not saying it shouldn't happen, just that it's hard to be terribly excited when there's been a plethora of ways to enjoy Shada for donkey's years. However, having thought it over....it'll annoy Ian Levine so it's got my support

I wonder if it will be shown on BBC1 or BBC2? It featuring Tom Baker would surely bring in casual viewers for a primetime airing.

Another version of Shada?!
Doubt it'll be broadcast though, probably made for DVD release like the re-animations.
Also I can just imagine the fury of Ian Levine. All is right with the world when Ian Levine is angry.

Would have been lovely in a costume!

A partial one would look odd. True - the previous part-animated completions have been full animated episodes, this could look rather 'choppy' switching between styles during an episode. Still, it would be my preference and as a fan I'd like at least the option of seeing it that way - I wonder if it would be too complex (expensive) to have that option on the DVD? Hill's confirming it on Twitter for a November release. I'm not fussed frankly. Agree, the BF audio cast is superb and I love that version, but this should be the definitive version from the point of authenticity and I can certainly make room for one more official BBC/Tom Baker six-parter. It really will be '1979 all over again'.

Although it's exciting more animations are happening my reaction was...meh, I actually prefer the McGann audio to the incomplete '79 version, getting Baker to say the lines this time round won't dramatically change the feel of the story, and there's already multiple other versions of the story I'd be more excited if it was an animation of one of the missing '60's stories.

A partial one would look odd. No. I think they'll use footage and then get in the surviving actors to provide voice work over animated sequences. And then have voice impersonators. Anyway, it would explain the fast turnaround. Really excited, though. I understand why people like the McGann one, but it isn't quite the same because it isn't Tom delivering the lines and he adds something to it, in my view, because I'd say he fully encapsulates who the Doctor is.

But I've always wanted BBC 1 or 2 to do repeats. They do it with stuff like Death In Paradise and several other shows. Do one story for each Doctor maybe Something that equates from 90 to 100 minutes. 1st - An Unearthly Child, 2nd - Tomb Of The Cybermen, 3rd - Spearhead From Space, 4th - Pyramids Of Mars, 5th - The Caves Of Androzani, 6th - Revelation Of The Daleks, 7th - The Curse Of Fenric, 8th - The TV Movie, 9th - The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, 10th - Human Nature/The Family Of Blood, 11th - The Time Of Angels/Flesh And Stone, 12th - The Zygon Invasion/Inversion

They might use the audio of the surviving footage, but personally I'd be very surprised if it was animation-surviving footage-animation.

Chibnall needs to adapt Shada as a TV episode for Series 11. Then we can get a novelization of that episode. Give us as many competing versions as possible.

I'm not particularly interested in this, but I think it'll blow past animations out of the water in terms of sales. The money made off this may well fund a few more animations.

Jesus now we've got so many competing versions I declare ALL OF THEM ARE CANON. Wonder if it will top the McGann version which I love. The only question is where to put it in the collection? Would it fit in right after The Horns of Nimon? We've already got a Shada there so would the VHS be shoved to the back of the collection?
