Am back at work tomorrow . good news is our Bishop has dispensed elderly from attending Mass which is a great decision. But given the strength of faith of these elderly lol I hope they take the advice. My Mother and Father have never missed Mass so it’s a big deal for them.We also had a family gathering due for a birthday and it has taken quite a bit of persuasion to have it postponed. Meanwhile I have been busy with all my little odd jobs and persuading others that’s the way to go. I will also after Mass see if there’s any people in our congregation that need things as a lot of them do not even have internet see if we can help out in some way.

Worth a read on the UK strategy for dealing with the virus. Despite the usual 'Blame Boris' stuff, there is actually a rationale behind it all:
A rationale that no other country has chosen. From my admittedly limited knowledge of Herd Immunity it does seem like this government are seeing certain people in society as acceptable casualties. As the WHO have stated we do not know enough about the virus to assume this approach will work. Sorry, don't want to add to anyone's stress. It does look like some measures are now being implemented like ban on large gatherings. This however seems to be led by music & sports venues with the government conceding it is what they should have done all along. Ms Panahi works for Murdoch, is a climate change denier and is also a defender of Australia’s PM so take her promotion of this thread as background information for any viewpoint she may be wanting to espouse.

Hello everybody... Uhm... would it be at all possible to keep this maybe as an emotional support thread? I know that all our governments are pretty much made up of the same incompetent fools, no matter what nation we are from. We are all in the same boat. But maybe that would be better served in a dedicated political thread? There are some of us who worry enough already and bringing up all the lacking leadership skills of our esteemed leaders does not inspire confidence in the more vulnerable people on this forum. I would like to ask if we could maybe split this up? Apologies from my end as well.

Use a Kindle? Exactly what I do. Just a little bit impractical for wiping your bum I am afraid.

At present, I have five possible infection vectors (that I'm aware of).
My parents and sister got back from a 14 day cruise last weekend, and while they were away I stayed at their house to cat-sit. So I was around them (hugs etc) when they got home. Since then my sister's got a cold and passed it on to my mum. On the plus side: my sister had a fever but only for one day, and lots of people get sick after traveling on a plane. And as of today it's been seven days since I last saw them, so with (apparently) a 5 day pre-symptom incubation period, I'm thinking I can cross them off my concern list.
Then at work, on Thursday of last week a couple of clients were in doing some emergency new laptop imaging for their office....because someone at their office tested positive for the virus, and all their work terminals were quarantined there so they needed new ones set up to keep people working. I don't believe the two guys I was interacting with were at the office, so hopefully I can rule out those two guys as well. But I last saw them on Friday, so I need a few more days to be sure.
I don't feel any kind of amount of sickness at present though, no congestion or cough or fever or headache. So, so far so good.

Had a mild fever for a few days (one degree, roughly). I work from home so simply avoided going out.
I'm not in a vulnerable population so I'm not particularly worried about myself, but I don't want to spread it to someone who is vulnerable...

Yup, best thing to do really. I'm the sort of person who never likes wasting my PTO days on a little thing like a cold, but given present circumstances I absolutely would. Good for you!
