Well this is all very exciting and congratulations to Big Finish for giving us fans what we wanted and giving some much needed attention to the Monthly Range.
I did briefly consider renewing my subscription, but have decided to buy these all together once they have been released. With the UK 10% discount when spending over £50 I can get these cheaper than pre-ordering them!!
I like the sound of all the stories, but I have concerns about the middle release. The Seventh Doctor did not recognise the MacQueen Master and the Sixth Doctor has already faced a villain played by Alex MacQueen who sounded like his later Master persona in Paradise 5.

Calling it now: The year of The Master is to prepare us for the recasting of role for The Third Doctor Adventures and future Fifth Doctor material, much as the Locum Doctor triolgey and The Fate of Krelos/Return to Telos was to lead wary customers into The Early Adventures and The Third Doctor Adventures. I hope that you are right! It would add an extra incentive to try the Third Doctor's next set of adventures. Big Finish seem to have set themselves the precedent of "only recasting roles where the original actor has never appeared in a Big Finish audio". This to my mind makes perfect sense. So where I doubt that we will hear another Brigadier with the Third Doctor I would like to hear from The Master. So what other releases could The Master appear in this year... Doom Coalition 3 and/or The War Doctor 3 perhaps??

If we're going to get The Master in either Doom Coalition or The War Doctor, I'd hope they stick with Alex McQueen. He does wonders with the role and those ranges fall well within his timeline without too much of a time travel explanation. The more McQueen Master the better, IMO.

I think the Master in the War Doctor series simply has to happen. War VS the Master makes perfect sense to me.

I suppose it's time to make a confession, the first Doctor I ever watched, and got me into Doctor Who, was the Shalka Doctor. I know I'd seen a Colin story, Troughton, and Tom in there. but it was Shalka that made me like Doctor Who. (I was really into the bad Flash Animation at the time...) Bad, but IIRC it was the first attempt to get synchronized sound/animation to stream live on the internet. Some of the lengthy still establishing shots are a legacy of that limitation: you have a still image on screen to limit video lag.

Pre-ordered the trilogy, as if there was any doubt I'd be getting this. Very excited to hear we this trilogy takes us, but as John Dorney is writing The Two Masters i have no worries that this will be nothing short of excellent. Is this the first time the Fifth & Sixth had a Master story from Big Finish, barring Light At The End? There is another 6th Doctor + Master story I haven't seen mentioned: {Spoiler} Her Final Flight But throughout the story you don't know it's the Master; his name is not mentioned even once; and even at the end, you have to recognize Beever's voice to make the connection.

Wait seriously? BrB, relistening to Her Final Flight. EDIT: Hmm, doesn't sound like Beevers to me, and the character is credited to Steven Bugdale as well.

Don't forget the Master showed up with the 6th Doctor in The Last Adventure: The End of the Line. It wasn't Beevers or Macqueen of course

It isn't perfect, and I don't think Shalka should be swept under the rug. And he shouldn't be the Great Intelligence either. I know we'll never get more, but he is still close to my heart.

But the final scene does still smack of the Master, even if it's not Beevers.

But the final scene does still smack of the Master, even if it's not Beevers. It's just another character with a history with the Doctor. It's not meant to be the Master. At least... I never heard anyone working on it at the time mention the words 'The Master'. I've never heard anyone mention those words in connection with it until today.

This definitely sounds exciting although I am a little skeptical as to how the MacQueen/Colin Baker meeting is going to make sense with Dominion. A multiple-Master story is something I think almost every Doctor Who fan has been asking for for years. I fully expect the Master to betray himself somehow. Only the Master could be that deceitful and manipulative. If only they could have gotten Gomez, Simm, and Jacobi in as well, we could have had a complete set of Masters. Well, as complete a set as one can get without recasting, which I'm slightly against in the case of the Master. I'd rather see new incarnations than attempts at imitating Delgado and Ainley. A pre-Delgado Master would be great to see, perhaps cameoing here before spinning off into an Early Adventures story... Or a Post-Delgado, Pre-Beevers Master to oppose the Third Doctor...
PS: I finally found my way here from the Big Finish Forums and made an account, just minus the extraneous numbers at the end of my username. I really missed the forums, so I'm glad to see some kind of continuation.
