Proper announcement piece is online with story details: www.bigfinish.com/news/v/prepare-to-meet-thy-doomSo characters from Daleks’ Master Plan, Jackie Tyler (who somehow has made it into both Big Finish 60th ranges then), a Silent and 8 & Charley. I think I’m okay sitting this one out tbh… I think Big Finish is having a real problem with seeming to just throw random characters together. Jackie, the Silence, the Syndicate, 8, and Charle. I think at least epsiode per set should be entirely original characters. They seem to be doing far too many X meets Y stories in my view.

I'll agree that the cover looks cluttered, and whilst I don't know if I'm really 'sold' on it, with the inclusion of 8 & Charley? Eh, like I've done with the book & BBC audio, I might consider getting this if I can get a few overtime hours in this month...

Yeah, I don't imagine I will get this around release, but if people who hear respond well to it, I'll keep it on the list to watch for on the cheap as it were.

Judging by the cover. Is it a musical? No! i guess not that would have to include the sixth doctor and his technicolour dream coat. This is just another dreamt up job to incorporate a few of the usual suspects. you never know!it might be good

Not really excited (that short story on BBC page was just okay), not very into comics myself but I think I'll try audio and novel - at least probably one of them and based on its level I'll choose buying or not the second one.

I quite like the sound of the Silent story, that’s got a lot of potential. I’m most intrigued that this will essentially be done in real time, which I think can be really effective, but will be reliant on Sooz bringing the goods as she’ll presumably be in pretty much every scene.

The Vortex article made everything sound very interesting (as they usually do), but I dunno if it’s enough to get me engaged with this multi-media event.

Actually that’s a really good point, as I hadn’t thought about it being an hour played out over an hour. It depends if Big Finish have embraced that concept. Have they ever done a real time story like that before? Thank you shallacatop you have just raised my interest in this release.

I think they have to embrace the concept otherwise there’s no real point to it at all. The audios, both Big Finish & BBC, will be the only way to actually experience the concept for real, so they should take advantage of it. If Sooz can do better than the videos, then it may help with a lot of goodwill towards the initiative; that’s assuming people buy them of course!

From what I recall each individual episode might be but I don’t think the story is as it probably shifts between episodes (I can’t recall precisely) meaning that the actual story takes place over a longer period. The story Real Time is, fairly obviously, in real time. Face to Face in the Robots and not quite entirely The Final Hour in the same set are intended to be real time. And I’ve got one script recorded but not announced that’s definitely real time.

This will all be quietly forgotten like the Time Lord Victorious debacle. Looks like it. Shame, especially that some parts of TLV were great.
