The return of Clara, apparently! Well... no, that's not what it said, it said the Doctor might remember her a little bit. That was all. That said: Clara's return wouldn't be all that surprising.

That was a really fascinating read. I do like those companion ideas. A Roman slave girl, Saxon warrior or Manchurian Princess all sound like terribly interesting characters with the potential to open up a new perspective on the show. I'm feeling a certain sense of vindication in regards to the show losing its teeth over the past couple of years.

Well, given the track record on people staying dead (or not), I wouldn't be surprised if Moffat has the Doctor figure out how to "download" or otherwise extract River from the library's computer into a solid body.
I seriously hope S10 addresses Gallifrey's return. I really don't like how S9 left it, especially when the Doctor told Davros it was back! (Seriously, WHY on earth would he do that if its return would reignite the Time War? Or were all the statements about the Time War reigniting if Gallifrey ever came back retconned away....silence by omission?)

Remember, Capaldis Doctor had an influence in Day of the Doctor. And, from a viewers POV/timeline, it hasn't happened, yet!

Currently I'm assuming that Capaldi's Doc flew into help Gallifrey either A) off-screen during Deep Breath (the lighting in the Tardis is more or less the same as 11's, and 12 looks rather p*ssed off suggesting it's early days for him, but that's easily explained as the producers not settling on hoe 12 or his tardis looks yet) or B) It's going to happen in his final episode. But it was just a fun cameo, I doubt it will ever get addressed on screen (though BF would probably have a go at doing so if given the chance eventually...)

I'm rather hoping Matt Lucas will be able to play Nardol more like "reality Matt Lucas" rather than "comedy har har fat man". Lucas was on QI the other night and surprised me by bring actually witty and entertaining.

There's clearly an unanswered something going on with dead River, who wouldn't explain at the end how come she could maintain the psychic link and still be present. It's also the only way it really fits in the timeline. Alive River never met twelve until the towers, and that was the last time she saw the Doctor before the Library.

Apparently they are filming in Vancouver in October, will be interesting to see whether they make use of the local scenery/actors, could be a nice change of pace. Multi Doctor Christmas special with 8 and 12 returning to 'San Francisco' anyone?

Multi Doctor Christmas special with 8 and 12 returning to 'San Francisco' anyone? Either that or a Stargate crossover. It'd be interesting to see Vancouver used as Vancouver just for once. I don't think we've had a Doctor Who story set in Canada, certainly not one for the New Series.

David Suchet joining as a guest star is very exciting news. A tremendous actor, one who I remember was a popular fan choice as Doctor and Master when fan-casting in the 90s and early 2000s.

Someone's found some money or the knack of talking to big stars agents again

If the rumours about filming in Canada are true, along with filming in Spain having already occurred two weeks ago, I think you could be right - the pursestrings are loosening. I wonder if, after the ratings fall/scheduling mistakes of Series 9, the Beeb have decided to invest a bit more. Matt Lucas having a recurring part - whatever people think of him or the character - won't be cheap either. Moffat's spoken about the mistake he feels he made in not having something "new" to launch Series 9 with, so I think we'll see a lot of promotion around Bill when the time comes. The Christmas special must be due to film pretty soon too. I think early September has been the pattern the past few years. It's all ramping up!

Mike Bartlett writing for the show is pretty exciting too. Again, one of the UK's biggest showrunners being persuaded to write for the show. I really can't think of another program, anywhere, where that happens as often as it has for Who. We've had the likes of Gattis, Whithouse, Graham, Chibnall, Nye, Cross, Gaiman, and Harness all write for Who, all of whom are, or have been, showrunners of some pretty big shows of their own. Probably others I'm forgetting, but Bartlett's Doctor Foster has been a real hit with critics and audiences and I also loved his miniseries The Town with Andrew Scott.

Well, there we go. That episode has gone and become unmissable. There are always actors who I regret not having a Michael Wisher style reappearance in various different roles throughout the series. I have a feeling David Suchet may soon become the latest in that regard. Then again... As a series that has recently refused to leave things well enough alone, so much so that it's actually gone back in the span of an episode and ruined its own successes, it might be for the best that he only turns up the once. :/ Fingers crossed that they can break from the (whether real or perceived) rut of the previous year.

I was referring to the fans favourite to be the Doctor or Master! I wasn't aware of that!
