These are amazing ideas for a darker Fourth Doctor. I recall this quote - The Doctor: "So... For all my knowledge... For all the technology at my disposal, I still have no way of foreseeing the most unpredictable thing of all... My own future!" What a great set-up for the Fourth Doctor's final arch that ends with Logopolis. I absolutely love the sound of that. Tom Baker's final series on television will, I think, always be my favourite. I had hoped that this latest series of 4DAs (just finished) would echo some of the themes and melancholy of that era - although it didn't (with the possible exception of Marc Platt's two-part finale), I still enjoyed it. But to have a series with a more reflective Fourth Doctor would be entirely to my tastes. Would Tom be up for it though? I get the feeling the main reason he's enjoying working with BF is the 'fun' element. Certainly his audio Doctor seems to me to be a mix of all his television eras - sometimes melancholy, sometimes authoritative and sometimes wonderfully silly ("I didn't understand a yap of that!"). I often think that the Fourth Doctor's more restrained persona during Series 18 is down to Tom's mindset as much as anything else. Just my viewpoint, of course!

I remember reading on GB somewhere that Matthew Waterhouse/Tom Baker had both indicated (separately) they'd consider doing some FDA's together, very underused tardis team that I'd like to hear expanded one.

And Serenity is having its own D&D-style problems by then. But I meant before Logopolis, when the Union is still going strong. Well, that was the thought behind putting The Neutron Knights and its like at some point during Season 18. The final line in that comic seems extremely apropos for transitioning into the more sombre Doctor at the beginning of either The Leisure Hive or Logopolis: I just finished reading those comics. Some of them are seriously bleak. End of the Line especially. If you put those as a bridge for the Fourth Doctor heading into his darker, more somber final season, I think it fits nicely. Yeah, that's where I place all the comics, given that the Doctor changes into his JNT costume during the run (I think between Sharon stories, in fact). I also think he says Romana is away at one point, but I couldn't tell you which one he says that in. But! The Doctor does mention the first DWM comic story in Luna Romana!

Not sure if it is of interest to many, but Audible has The Fourth Doctor Lost stories box set available at £3.99 til midnight as part of its daily 100 sales this week.
It's compressed and DMR protected, but if you do not have it yet, it's a good taster for a full purchase from Big Finish.
Assuming it's not on Spotify yet?
