x.com/bigfinish/status/1817865604021285122"We are aware of ongoing issues with the website and app. Our support team are aware and are working on a solution. As soon as the systems are back online, we will let you know." ............ Update Reason for Outage Confirmed It seems a lot of people tried to download their entire library yesterday (which may be why the servers fell over). BTW, the new website will be hosted on completely new servers. Did they need to confirm that? Pretty sure we all knew that since everyone was posting here, never mind Twitter, FB and people not on socials about DLing. Nice of them to do their usual and "Not our fault though - it's yours for wanting your paid goods"

I really hope not, I’ve heard about postage being different, but the stories are already double what they used to be before they did the first big price increase a year or two back. The Doctor box sets are now $33 each and the new river set is $40. If this keeps up, the classic who seasons will be cheaper than a single big finish set!

Predicting another few hours of website down but IT has it handled 👍 That was tweeted 5 hours ago. Doesn't look like it's been handled. Reason for Outage Confirmed It seems a lot of people tried to download their entire library yesterday (which may be why the servers fell over). BTW, the new website will be hosted on completely new servers. Where did you see that confirmation? I didn't see that on any of the BF feeds. If I was them I'd just leave it and let the new one launch Tomorrow Regards mark687 Which isn't good for folks who wanted to take advantage of sales and order things before the new site was launched. But as I said, I suspect we'll never see the old site again. Hope the new one is better.

Yep I was planning to buy Time War 5+6 as that bundle is being erased and they've said multibuy will not be cheaper than bundles taht contain items that are both at non-preorder and preorder price.

New website? New app? ...My first reaction is simply: I don't trust Big Finish to make changes that actually improve things for customers. God, I'd love to proven wrong in that assumption. So, so much.Anyway, does this mean the old app is gonna be removed, or otherwise cease to function? I'm glad y'all don't have to worry much about it, with only a few stories downloaded at a time, but I've been using the downloaded stories as a good way to track my backlog -- without that, I'd have no way of knowing what stories I have already listened to, and which I have not. My memory for titles just ain't that good. ~__~ I really hope not, I’ve heard about postage being different, but the stories are already double what they used to be before they did the first big price increase a year or two back. Jesus, didn't they already rise the prices enough over the past couple years? The higher they go, the less willing I'm gonna be to buy anything. Especially new stuff without the benefit or reviews.

Just as an FYI, downloading to an app doesn't protect your purchase. You need to download it to a computer or some sort of external drive to make sure it will be available to you in years to come. As far as keeping track: I have a list. Every time I download something to listen to it, I add it to the list, which is how I know what I've listened to and what I haven't. It's become a very inefficient list over time and so many releases. I would love to keep track on a spreadsheet, just not sure how I would organize it.

Oh, for sure. I've got everything backed up on my PC. I've also been trying to keep a spreadsheet going, to track what stuff I've bought, what stuff I've listened to (with ratings), and what stuff I've got wishlisted. I'm really bad at remembering titles, so the ratings, especially, are important for me to keep track of my favorites. (EDIT: the process of which may actually help with my memory -- God knows that's the only reason I remember the title, "Creatures of Beauty.")
Problem is, I don't exactly update it regularly, and tend to be pretty scattered in my approach to what I listen to.

Yeah, the price increases have really made me miss the budget sized releases from the short trips range. The anthologies were nice over the last two years, but moving to that format really hurt the whole idea of a nice low cost story dropping any month. Plus almost 8 months in and not a peep about that range returning this year.

The website being down due to people downloading their catalogue is absolute bollocks. At best you’d have alerting telling you of high UTE to be able to clear any blockings and communicate out. At worst the site becomes completely unavailable, you reboot and are back up within the hour, again communicating the root cause and putting further mitigating steps in place.
I suspect what’s likelier is some underlying data work was carried out over the weekend (out of hours) that’s required for the new website and it’s gone Pete Tong.
Been there, done that, got a wardrobe full of IT major incident t-shirts to prove it.
