The mark of a truly great guest star is someone that can hold their own (and possibly in this case maybe steal some scenes) with the leads - Suchet delivered this in spades. Just wish we got to see abit more with him.

Watched it a second time - is anyone else getting a Psycho vibe off it: creepy landlord, spooky house, mother hidden away....? Quick, somebody write a fanfic where he dresses as his mother!

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Actually, it's a bit of a twist on the Pied Piper as well, isn't it? The vermin attracted by noise to do the musician's bidding. Nice - hadn't considered that, but it fits beautifully.

You know that Harry is Harry Sullivan's grandson... Does this still fit with BF continuity? Was it mentioned in the story? It was a cut line because someone believed that referencing a companion from the mid 70's would be too much of a continuity reference. Never mind that the last haunted house episode had the Doctor reference (and mispronounce) the planet his third regeneration was triggered on for a plot point (the Metabelis crystal). The only Big Finish continuity with Harry comes from Sarah Jane Smith, where by 2004-2006 he's off the radar enough that Sarah can't find him and that he has a brother. Not much work with, let alone contradict. Also, the previously unknown family trope rears its head.

So any other works can contradict it with impunity.

I know continuity references have become divisive but if you include their mention in promo material they should be shown.

I think the harry line was to ref the stairs grabbing his foot to be just like the clam shutting on harrys foot.

However if it was in promo material for the episode then it could be different. What exactly was the promo reference?

Harry strikes me more as someone's uncle rather than their father, although I could say that of a lot of people I know. Must've been at some point after his work at MI5 and NATO, it'd be a better legacy than the Z-67 gas. Shame that he isn't remembered for potentially discovering a potential cure to HIV from Damaged Goods. Likely and inadvertantly thanks to Chris Cwej.

I am a bit sad that the Harry Sullivan line was cut. It would have been a nice nod to fans of Classic Who and I don't think anyone by chance not familiar with him would have minded. Maybe they would even have googled it.

4th ep in a row there has been another David Bowie reference/Easter egg hhmm.. Please list them. I am trying to Youtube the 4 episodes of "Whovians" where they listed all the references.. I have been flat out the last couple days.. I remember the 1st episode there was a quote from 1 of his songs, and the latest episode there was a Bowie single in the boxes of belongings.. I will continue to search..
