There was an element of 'get on with it' when David Tennant regenerated certainly, after his tour of past glories. Hopefully this will be more contained. Yes! Worst regeneration ever! Horrible 4th wall breaking 'boo-hooing' from Tennant & RTD. It was over-the-top for my tastes, but I can understand why they milked the emotion. Tennant was hugely popular of course, and it was RTD's last stand. Compared to the understated sorrow of The Second Doctor's last hurrah however (for example), I know which I prefer.

Much as I love Gold, it is time to go. He's now entering the Dudley Simpson phase of 'all sounding the same' and the show could benefit from new musical direction. Whether it's Ólafur Arnalds (Broadchurch) or someone else, it could be a boon. Think you'll find Gold was the same from day one! That's grossly unfair (and untrue), of course.

By definition it would take until day two at least for him to become samey.

Is there anything you do like about modern Doctor Who? TARDIS exterior looks nice! But is that the sort of blue you want? I mean the blue of a Stilton would be nearer to some people's idea of perfection. Though who knows what other cheeses would make of that?

Though who knows what other cheeses would make of that? In the interest of cheese diversity I would like to point out that Stilton can be white and very nice it is too. Thus strengthening the cheese model theory of Gallifreyan Type 40 chameleonism, since the TARDIS has also been white, in BF. It would now only require a find of black cheese to prove the theory beyond doubt.

I like a good speech personally, and I do feel like 12 considering himself to be a 'good man' would be a fitting end to his incarnation. This Doctor seems to have spent a lot of time doubting himself. It would be nice to see his final moments be him finally accepting he does good. I've always felt that the "idiot in a box" speech was the end of that question and the self doubt. He's not a good man, but that doesn't matter. He's content with who he is. I think World Enough And Time/The Doctor Falls suggests otherwise. That seemed like a return to the 'Am I a good man?' arc to ne.

Also Black Bomber comes in black wax.

All of Golds version are wishy washy, not enough oomph! I didn't mind his first one but they've gone downhill since and the current one is dreadful. In fairness to the guy, it must be tough contantly having to come up with new takes on the same tune. All the more reason for a change.
