Nineteen confirmed dead according to media reports. It's sick. Such a stupid waste of human life. Both of those who died and those who planted the damn thing. MI5 and MI6 are said to be looking into it now to determine whether it was politically motivated or otherwise. At least... Well, a lot have gotten out alive. That's something. Highest hopes and sincerest feelings to those in England right now.

Manchester bombing sickened me to the core, these vile sadistic scum have no soul killing innocent people who just wanted a entertaining night of good music.
What goes through this sick bastards mind when there rigging up these explosives knowing there going to kill innocent people? Why is this world so consumed by hate?
My heart & love goes out to all those families affected by this recent trauma.

One of my 11 year old daughter's schoolfrends was there. We're waiting to find out if she and her family are OK. My daughter was telling us how excited she was at school yesterday to be going. Then this happens. Her best friend was visiting parliament on a school trip the other month and was locked in for hours when the building went on lockdown following the killing of a policeman in the grounds. This latest is a new low though. Sick sick sick.

What goes through this sick bastards mind when there rigging up these explosives knowing there going to kill innocent people? Why is this world so consumed by hate? My heart & love goes out to all those families affected by this recent trauma. As always... It's not everyone, just a select few who believe themselves to be everyone. There are still paramedics, there are still peace officers, there are even those amongst the crowd who I'm sure were helping other parents find their children as much as their own. It's difficult to see sometimes because it's all so horribly monstrous, but... Everyday heroes are still there. Not seeking attention, not seeking to topple the world. Just quietly doing the jobs that no one else would or even could do. The quiet good to balance the tumid evil.

A close friend of ours was there last night with their daughter. Fortunately they are both physically ok, but I think the trauma will be lasting. At my daughter's school there were three students who were there, they are also ok but had friends injured. We have spent the morning ringing round friends and family to make sure they are all ok. Our girls are supposed to be going to London next week to a concert at the O2 arena - might not be happening now My niece is competing in the Manchester run on Sunday if it goes ahead. This brings back memories of the IRA bomb for me but is closer to home because my kids/friends could/were there. We are totally shocked this morning Mrs Acousticwolf can't stop crying, I am totally numb.

( acousticwolf, @brians and whomever else may need it) PTSD overviews from Beyond Blue and SANE Australia, respectively. Good to know, just in case. The hardest part for me and my family was not recognising the symptoms when they emerged.

Totally horrific and unbelievable that anyone could be twisted enough to do it.
My heart goes out to all affected by it.

More news of friends and relatives who were there are coming in - thankfully all are safe. I know how I feel today but my thoughts are with those who haven't been as lucky

@brians praying your daughter's friend is okay
It does take a particular awful type of person to target a place they know many children will be at.

Sat at work, tears in my eyes while typing this. Times like these just remind you that all life is precious, and can be snatched away at any time. To everyone - wherever you are today and whatever you are doing, don't forget to hug and tell your loved ones just how much you love them. Tony
